Whether it’s your primary storefront, an online brochure, or anything in between, websites are a necessity in business. However, doing what you do already puts a huge demand on your time, and all this Internet stuff just stresses you out, or you can’t seem to get the results you want at the right price.
DIY is Messy
Ever start a weekend project on a small budget, only to see it incomplete after six weeks? Do-it-yourself projects can be fun, and they can also test your character. Websites are no different.
Time is Money
You’re good at what you do, and when you’re focused, you’re unstoppable. Your time is valuable, and how you spend it is often more important than how much money you save.
Outcomes May Vary
Who wants endless late nights, painful learning curves and instruction manuals written by nerds? And with turnkey solutions showing off great demo sites, they rarely get similar results.
Get it Done For You
So you can do what you’re really good at!
A Done For You website provides a low-cost alternative to endless late nights, painful learning curves and instruction manuals written by nerds. Most “turnkey website” providers are essentially nothing more than an Ikea, which sells you a kit, but you have to put it together. The problem is that websites are unique to your business and can’t be sold from a shelf and don’t include valuable content and strategy.
Do-It-Yourself website providers like Squarespace are fantastic solutions, or maybe you know someone who can do it on the cheap. Perhaps you bought a WordPress theme that looks great, but you don’t know where to start. But if you need better results, our “Done For You” approach takes account of all of the steps to building, launching and maintaining a site, so we can free you up to run your business.
To keep costs low, we help you find the best premium theme for your business instead of designing from scratch, saving dozens of hours.
While premium themes are already built, they still require some light customization to be suitable for your site.
Our standard service does not include content development, but we help you write it and make sure to tailor your site accordingly.
We handle the hosting for you, because we’re nerds. We also make sure your site is safe and always running, as much as possible.
Launching is a technical process, but it’s really just the beginning. Our launch support is ongoing, meaning we won’t abandon you once it’s live.
We’re with you for the long haul to make sure you continually get the best use from your site. If we build it, we’ll maintain it.
Save Time. Make Money.
Your time is valuable, and when you’re focused on your business, you’re killing it. If you did nothing else for the next 2-3 weeks, you might have a half decent website. But ain’t nobody got time for that. Every hour spent away from your business is an hour away from your earning potential.
Spend to Save
Buy more time to run your business. It’s so crazy, it just might work.
It takes us less time, since we know what we’re doing most of the time.
No guarantees on stress reduction, but we can take something off your plate.
Quality control freaks
When we launch a site, we make sure it’s something we’re all proud of. It’s also important to understand that launching a site is really the beginning, and the next steps are crucial to your success. We want your business to grow. With a great new digital presence, we continue exploring how we can make it one of your greatest marketing tools.
Although the launch usually happens in a couple months, we stick around for a whole year after that. The reason is simple: We don’t want to leave you hanging, and we want you to fully utilize your site’s potential. Our concierge service covers basic website maintenance but also helps you grow into your digital marketing potential, so you can plan your next attack.

Our DFY team works for you. While we may use low-cost website “solutions,” we see it through to completion. Yes, you’ll have to be involved along the way, but only so we can make sure your site accurately represents your brand. We promise to do the heavy lifting. The best part is that it’s very affordable. It’s possible to spend more on your phone and cable bills this year alone.

The initial setup would focus on the new theme specifically, but the whole plan would cover optimizing your site, which includes taking out the trash. Basically what that means is that we’ll take some time to get rid of anything that doesn’t serve the purpose of the new site, but nothing that would hold up the launch, in case it becomes a huge job.
That’s a hope, but not a guarantee. The website doesn’t represent the entirety of your marketing and business strategy, so it has to be judged according to its own weight. However, if we stick to the plan and work hard to use the site to its full potential, we have no doubt it will move the needle.
Even though we do the assembly and maintenance, this is your property. So we’ll ask for your help from time to time. You know your business better than anyone else, so you’ll be the best to prepare content. We will help you form it, shape it and color it as necessary, but ultimately it’s up to you. However, we won’t say no if you want to pay extra for content development.
We’ll spend a bit of time up front with finding a good theme and then personalizing it to your business before we get too far ahead. With that, it’s important to commit to it so we have a track record of success or failure with it before making too many assumptions. That being said, each month we’ll be able to make adjustments as needed. The whole idea is that launching a site is the starting line, not the finish line. You just can’t change horses in the middle of the race!
No. That’s the beauty of it. No more cursing, learning curves, community college or frustrating late nights (although these are all optional). You are great at what you do, so this allows you to focus on that. We will ask you to take ownership from time to time during the pre-launch phase and throughout the year, but we’ll take care of the technical stuff.
If you love your host, you can keep your host. But it does not affect price in any way, as all plans include free hosting. While we recommend our hosting solution for its vetted reliability, security and workflow familiarity, we don’t require it. However, keeping your host does mean you’d be paying for both hosting and a DFY plan.
No it does not take a year to build, load and launch the site, but it can usually take a year to bring it to a point of maturity or stability. So many website projects include a lot of upfront attention only to fall apart shortly after launch. DFY treats site launches as the beginning, not the end. Typical site launches take about 6-12 weeks, or more, from kickoff depending on various factors.
The initial website setup will be considered paid in full after 12 months; however, we encourage you to look beyond your website as your only investment. Similar to a mobile phone contract, you may choose to “upgrade” after the contract is up, or you may simply own your property. You may also pay only for concierge service at a reduced rate.
Plans are not quantified by an hourly rate or agreement, but they also don’t allow for unlimited interactions and requests. The plan simply creates a standing agreement and relationship with your DFY project director who will offer assistance and suggestions for the improvement and effectiveness of your marketing, as it pertains to your website. Requests that you initiate will be handled according to the scope of the agreement and would be affected by or will affect other work efforts already under way.
All plans are contract agreements requiring 12 months from launch. Quitting the subscription or a missed payment before that may result in either suspension of website and/or payment due on remaining total of contract.
The plan does not take website balance into consideration, as it is a subscription-based monthly service agreement. Contact us about a custom pricing plan that allows you to pay separately for Concierge benefits.
It’s actually a bit of both. Our plans are a subscription that includes monthly check-ins, recommendations and continuing website management. However, the initial setup of the website – or other agreed upon services – is spread across 12 months in concurrence with the subscription plan.
All those subscription plans are great, and we might even use Squarespace for your website if it’s a good fit. Yet more often than not, the demo websites are more glorious than the ones most businesses end up with. Not only that, but the amount of time and frustrating late nights that go into building a site is certainly not simplified by a DIY website service. DFY plans combine cost savings with time savings to give you the best for your money.
We’ll assess whether your requirements are close, within range or completely outside of the scope of a DFY website. We can then determine pricing on top of the regular subscription price or include the extended functionality as part of a later phase or a Year 2 plan if it is less urgent.
We take advantage of a large variety of WordPress and Squarespace themes, which allows significant cost savings as a result of less development time. Our design process involves an in-depth search for a theme that satisfies your industry, preferences and business requirements, followed up by a process of personalizing it with your logo, colors and fonts according to your brand. A large portion of the project is dedicated to loading content and getting the site ready for launch.
Unfortunately, satisfaction is such a subjective term, so we can’t ever guarantee satisfaction. It’s easy to allow personal preference to take higher priority over what’s right for the business. We prefer to be judged by the results we get, such as conversion rates, sales, followers, traffic, etc., and not by colors, shapes and layouts (although we care a lot about that too). We want to earn your trust in us to deliver, and we’ll do our best to bring value to your business at all times.
Shift2 DFY Websites are carefully crafted and tailored for your success. While we aren’t perfect, and we can’t control all aspects of your business, we know a thing or two about making quality websites that get results. For that reason, we bring the most value when we have a mutual trust with our clients, which enables us to achieve success and accomplish goals. Clients will have administrative access to the site and will be responsible for maintaining certain aspects; however, we reserve the right to undo any changes if we think they don’t lead to a favorable outcome. Further disruption to the site will either result in billing for our time spent to restore or edit the changes, or we may cancel the subscription and bill for the remainder of the contract, minus a hosting allowance.
